Collection events at Dixon Recycling Center Nov. 7
Event Date
The John B. Dixon Recycling Center will hold many special recycling events on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The Great White Shred, a local, veteran-owned business, will be at the recycling center to shred people’s personal documents. Shredding is free and open to all.
Bring papers in bags and boxes. Staples and paper clips can be left on the pages, but no metal, plastic, digital or other non-paper materials can be included.
Electronics recycling company eWaste New England will also be collecting computers, laptops, personal digital assistants, cell phones, tablets, gaming systems, telephones, small household appliances and battery back-ups. These will all be collected for free.
Some items will be accepted for a small fee, including air conditioners, dehumidifiers, printers, copy machines and toaster ovens. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.
The Paint Shed will be closed for the season on Oct. 24 due to the danger of freezing during the autumn and winter. Before then, you can bring latex paints only for a cost of $4 per gallon. You can combine partial cans to minimize the cost. If desired, you can take as much latex paint as you want for no cost before closing.
Residents and non-residents can attend these events. Cash and checks are accepted by the recycling center itself.
