Massachusetts Book Award honored author to speak at library

Meet Massachusetts Book Award-honored author Desmond Hall at the Wareham Free Library on Wednesday, July 14 at 6 p.m.
Hall is the author of "Better Must Come," a book about two teenage protagonists who are "searching for ways to lift themselves and their families out of difficult and often dangerous circumstances."
Hall will lead a discussion and story-structure workshop at the library. This will be followed by a Q&A session and book signing.
According to the library, the book is designed for tweens and teens and is appropriate for children ages 11 and older. Books will be available for purchase for $10.50 each and can be purchased in advance by contacting Mel Dyer at the library's reference desk.
Desmond Hall was born in Jamaica and later moved to New York City. He is the author of several young adult novels and his work "draws on personal and historical contexts to create fast-paced, emotionally resonant stories for teen readers," according to the library. Hall currently lives in Boston.
The free program is sponsored by the Mass Book Awards Speakers Bureau and is presented in collaboration with the Massachusetts Center for the Book.
