Town sends 20 year sewer plan for state approval
Sep 16, 2025
The town has submitted the comprehensive wastewater management plan for state review and the public will soon be able to provide their feedback on it.
The plan outlines Wareham’s steps over the next 20 years to reduce nitrogen in town water by potentially making improvements to the water pollution control facility, removing problematic septic systems in place of sewer and moving the sewage outfall location to the Cape Cod Canal.
Getting the plan approved by the state is the first step before any improvements can be made. State approval may include site visits and consultations with the town.
Anyone who wishes to comment on the plan can review it here and comments can be emailed to MEPA@mass.gov.
