A Girl Scout earned her bronze award thanks to stuffed animals.
For her community service project, Ainslee Manduca of Troop 64068 started a stuffed animal drive for local emergency services.
She had seizures growing up, her mother, Cheryl Manduca, said. After one seizure, she was given a stuffed animal while in the ambulance, which made her feel comforted.
Cheryl Manduca said Ainslee chose the stuffed animal drive for her bronze award project “so no other child would be scared either in an emergency situation.”
Ainslee collected toys around the town and delivered them to police stations, firehouses and emergency medical service offices around Wareham.
She will be given her bronze award at a ceremony at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall on Oct. 12 at 12 p.m.
