Petals and praise for the Onset Beautification Team
The Onset Beautification Team was recognized at the Tuesday, May 19 Select Board meeting for its ongoing efforts to enhance and maintain public spaces throughout the village.
Formed in 1994, the volunteer group currently includes 12 active members who work year-round to maintain flower displays and greenery at locations including the area in front of the fire station, the corner of South Water Street and Bay Avenue, and Dudley L. Brown Square.
The team also helps decorate Onset Village for the holidays, with lights and other displays that have become a seasonal attraction for residents and visitors alike.
Select Board members praised the group for its consistent volunteer work, funded through donations, fundraisers, and bottle collections, and thanked them for their continued dedication to improving the appearance of the village. The team has raised over $8,000 through bottle drives to support Onset.
